VANCOUVER ISLAND UNIVERSITY ROWING

Are you a student at Vancouver Island University and interested in rowing? Join the VIU team, no experience necessary! Rowing is a great sport to join when high school sports finish but you still want to have a competitive sport. It is also great for fitness and meeting friends!

The VIU university season runs from September 1 to April 31. The VIU rowing team is for VIU students and competes against other universities across Canada. We have sweeping, sculling, and coastal rowing opportunities, and being on the West Coast we have access to the water most days of the year.

The price for 2025-2026 season is $500, with prorated fees if you join later in the season.

From May through August students are encouraged to continue rowing with the Nanaimo Rowing Club in order to participate in the summer racing circuit (see Adult fee structure for summer prices).
